Role Overview:
HRLeverage Africa, the workforce and workspace management company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Officer. The ideal candidate will provide legal advice and support across a wide range of internal and client-facing issues, ensuring the company operates within the law while minimizing risk. You will be instrumental in drafting contracts, handling regulatory compliance, managing legal risks, and advising on employment law and HR-related legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including client contracts, NDAs, employment contracts, service agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on employment law, HR policies, and labor regulations applicable in Nigeria.
• Monitor and ensure the company’s compliance with statutory obligations and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CAC, PENCOM, NSITF, ITF, FIRS, etc.).
• Represent the company in dealings with regulatory bodies and external counsel.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, memoranda, and briefs on various legal matters.
• Assist in dispute resolution, litigation management, and contract enforcement.
• Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations that affect the business and its clients.
• Support in developing and maintaining internal governance and risk management frameworks.
• Provide legal support on data protection and privacy compliance (e.g., NDPR).
• Deliver legal training to staff on relevant laws, compliance, and internal policies.

Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution; B.L from the Nigerian Law School.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years post-call experience, preferably in a corporate, consulting, or law firm environment.
• Professional Membership: Membership with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is required.

• Familiarity with data protection laws (e.g., NDPR) is an added advantage.
