Job Summary
HRLeverage Africa the pan African workforce management company is recruiting a skilled Heavy-duty equipment Technician for a client operating in a fast paced equipment rental environment. The candidate is to report to the Workshop Supervisor for the installation,
maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of hydraulic, transmission, engine and undercarriage systems
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults in engine, transmission, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy-duty machinery
* Repair, overhaul, and install major components including engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, and drivetrains
* Conduct inspections, testing, calibration, and fluid management to ensure optimal system performance
* Troubleshoot and resolve system failures while ensuring safety compliance
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation
* Collaborate with technical teams to deliver high-quality work and continuous system improvements.
Requirements and Competencies.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hydraulic, transmission, and engine systems
* Proficient in installation, repair, testing, and calibration of heavy equipment systems
* Solid mechanical aptitude with effective use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
* High safety awareness with ability to respond effectively to emergency situations
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
* Strong documentation, time management, and task prioritization abilities
* Adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality standards and continuous learning
Qualifications
‌ 3-5 years’ experience as Heavy equipment Technician
‌Post-Secondary Education, Technical Training, Apprenticeships, Certifications, On-the-Job

‌Associate Degree Programs or Degree (Optional)
