HRLeverage Africa, The Pan-African workforce management company is recruiting for a Procurement Manager for his client who is a major player in the construction industry.

*Job Summary*

– The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.

– The ideal candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to align procurement with business objectives while maintaining strict adherence to policies and timelines.

*Key Responsibilities:*

– Manage and optimize Purchase Order (PO) cycle time from requisition to issuance

– Oversee and improve vendor onboarding and qualification processes

– Achieve measurable cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiation

– Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements

– Maintain high purchase order accuracy and proper documentation

– Monitor and improve on-time delivery rates across all vendors

– Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and maintain scorecards

– Submit accurate monthly spend reports to management

– Support effective inventory turnover and maintain optimal stock levels

– Collaborate with departments to ensure procurement aligns with project schedules

– Lead procurement process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency

– Maintain high internal stakeholder satisfaction through service quality

*Qualifications:*

– Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or equivalent is a must.

– Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in corporate procurement, preferably in an administrative or multi-department environment.

– Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.

– Proficiency in procurement ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo).

– Excellent organizational and communication skills.

– High level of integrity and professionalism.

– Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and vendor networks

– Proven track record of achieving cost savings and improving procurement KPIs

– Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
