Job Title: Internal Accountant
Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Salary: 200,000 Net

Job Summary
HRLeverage, The Pan-African workforce management company, is recruiting a highly skilled and integrity-driven internal accountant for its client who is a key player in the food, education and Healthcare value chain.

The ideal candidate will be an accounting generalist with expertise in all facets of accounting, including financial reporting, statutory compliance, inventory management, and sales reconciliation. This role requires a proactive individual with prior experience in a trading organization environment, where accountability and ethical standards are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare and finalize monthly/yearly financial statements (final accounts) in accordance with accounting standards.
Ensure timely submission of statutory filings (tax returns, licenses, etc.) and remittances.

Bank Reconciliations:
Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies.

Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory management systems, including stock tracking and cycle counting.
Conduct routine inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Sales Reconciliation:
Reconcile sales invoices against recorded sales data to identify discrepancies (e.g., overages/shortages).
Investigate and resolve variances in sales data.

General Accounting:
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certifications: Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.

Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an accounting generalist in a trading organization (preferably in sales and inventory-heavy environments).
Proven track record in preparing final accounts, statutory filings, and inventory audits.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems).
