HRLeverage Africa Ltd is a consulting firm with operations in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Nairobi and other parts of Africa . We are currently hiring for our client, a Pan African Agricultural Firm with Operation in Sub-Sahara Africa. Our client needs to fill the position of a “Group CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER”. The ideal candidate is expected to provide leadership, direction and management of the Operational Business Functions of the Group of companies.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Smooth and efficient operations across the various entities in the group.
  2. Working closely with the GCFO to formulate and implement budgeting and financial planning.
  3. Working with the GCFO to develop a financial reporting system for all group entities.
  4. Operational responsibility for revenue generation across all entities in the group.
  5. Develop strategies and policies to optimize short, medium and long-term cash flows.
  6. Analyze optimal business development opportunities in the various sectors and countries we operate in and advise the Board.
  7. Supervise all operational activities of the group.
  8. Promote the company brand in the countries and sectors we operate in.
  9. Implement an efficient dynamic and effective transfer pricing mechanism to optimize group synergies.
  10. Ensure compliance with the laws and company policies

Job Requirements

  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Proven track record as a COO or senior operations executive in a similar industry Agri-Finance or Banking – preferably in a multinational or international finance organization, consulting role, trading and manufacturing conglomerates.
  2. Experience working with multilateral funding agencies like AfDB, IFC and multinational foundations.
  3. Thorough understanding of the Value Chain management and optimization across various industry sectors.
  4. Practical knowledge of the various sector specific intervention schemes

  5. Experience with corporate governance

  • Professional Requirements
  1. Qualification • A good first degree in any discipline. Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage.
  2. Minimum Experience: • Minimum of 15 years business operations experience in the organized private sector with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership position. Experience in a similar function in a multinational bank or a major consulting firm would be an advantage.
  3. Professional Membership • PMP, Six Sigma, Scrum Master, CSCP and similar.
